The importance of the trees and the love for mother earth

The importance of trees in shamanism and natural medicine

“Our DNA is made of the same as the DNA of a tree. The tree breathes what we exhale. When the tree exhales, we need what the tree exhales. So we have a common destiny with the tree.”

Floyd Red Crow Westerman
A wise man and native from the first american nations
Quotes on shamanism

In Shamanism and natural medicine, trees as plants are our close allies. We do not consider them as “things” but as living beings and spirits. As they are part of the reign of the living to which we belong too, a close relationship and link stand between us.

If you simply sit against a tree or touch it, you can easily feel its great energy. This is a simple exercise that requires just to go a bit beyond the misconception that what you have in front of you is not a living being, or this idea that you cannot get something special from this encounter.

In Shamanism, the importance of the tree is paramount and we consider them to have a great form of wisdom they can transmit us in many ways. Beyond the direct healing properties that some of them offer to us through their fruits, their roots or their wood, they can also help us travelling to the heart of Mother Earth, and teach us things, but they can also help us to heal pain, suffering or health problems by absorbing them  through their roots.

Next time you will walk in a forest and in case you are of the few that never tried it, you may try to open up  to their beautiful wisdom magy and teachings. As Floyd Red Crow Westerman said, our breathing and our DNA are deeply linked.

Have a beautiful day.
