Shunyamurti: the Art of divine living and the beautiful Wisdom of a deep connected soul

The Art of Divine Living, The Path of Paradox Retreat, Shunyamurti

“We are brought here to this world to become healers who operate with the medicine of love and no other medicine is needed. If we can transmit that to medicine in its pure form and do so wisely egolessly with complete purity of heart. We all want that and the paradox is we run away from that which we most deeply and honestly desire to be and the moment we stop running away we will know that all the long all what we have ever been is that pure love”

Yoga and shamanism

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a beautiful day.

I am sharing today another of this moment when duality, difference, opposition stay out of the picture. It is this kind of beautiful moment when we recognize that the roots and the leaves of spirituality are obvioulsly of the same colors, this moment when we see clearly that the truth that lies in the deep silence of our méditations is having the same beautiful flavor no matter the path we choose if we walk it deeply.

Who is Shunyamurti? Yogi, shaman, healer, elder, wiseman, deep connected soul? It is you, me and us. That’s also when we realize we don’t need to put a “definition” on someone but just listen and at the end of his speech, then we may just feel like joining our two hands and to just say “thank you” and “Namaste” from the deep of our heart.

Great time to heal mother earth

healing_mother_earth_shamanism_1600

–  “Not so long ago, it was a paradise

– But what happened Gran pa?”

– “Many things happened, Grandson…

They believed they were Gods. They believed they were the only ones alive and all the rest around was dead or born to serve them. They didn’t understand Mother earth was a living being and that they were having a big responsability towards her and towards all forms of Life.

They believed in profit, competition, consumism, and something they call money to make them happy. Many became cupid and selfish in a blind way. They would let their brothers suffer in pain and famish to fullfill their ambitions. In the end, a few of them were taking advantage of it, but many others still believed they could be one of them one day. Along the way most realised they were being fooled and it will never happen.

Many were still enslaved though and knew it but the ones in control made them feel powerless using lies, terror and fears. So for a while, they didn’t understand they had the power to change the situation as they were the ones making it last, but time has come now to take our paradise back, to stop feeding their system and to heal our mother earth and we will do it for her and for you, Son. Time to Tear down the wall!”

A  quote and tale about shamanism and a call to heal mother hearth

Hello everyone,

Calling for a change today through an old man and his gran son i like to picture around a fire.

After a thanks to mother earth for this new day, i woke up with this song from Pink Floyd in mind “Mother” and i cooked it a bit for this design. I really love the the whole song but the firsts words of it are about politic in a right way.

“Mother do you think they’ll drop the bomb
Mother do you think they’ll like the song
Mother do you think they’ll try to break my balls
Ooooh aah, Mother should I build a wall

Mother should I run for president
Mother should I trust the government
Mother will they put me in the firing line
Ooooh aah, is it just a waste of time .”

Pink Floyd. “Mother” lyrics.

Yes, to heal Mother earth is a big concern for many shamans nowadays. Many can hear her crying and pray each day for her to be healed and for everyone on this planet to wake up and realised she’s a wonderful being that have took care of  us for long without getting much in return. She is alive, she is a living being. To heal her is a responsability we all have and the time has really come for us to fight on what we consume, on what we look and what leads or lies we follow.

Each of us has a big power, we really need to understand that. We cannot stay on the path of lies and compromise ourselves, there is too much emergency. Mother earth is crying and we can start healing her today by being responsible. The consumption is a big key, it is one of our power. Grow our food, go back to her but not only, everything we consume massively creates more explotation of her ressources. Do we really need all that? Looking a bit closer what we consum, we make a big part of this system that destroys everything stop or last.

For the rest, being grateful daily is our practice and praying for mother earth and sending her love praying for her to be patient as many new humans realises each new day the emergency and act accordingly.

To conclude, let me add this quote from Russel Means as more water for my mill.

“All European tradition, Marxism included, has conspired to defy the natural order of all things. Mother Earth has been abused, the powers have been abused, and this cannot go on forever. No theory can alter that simple fact. Mother Earth will retaliate, the whole environment will retaliate, and the abusers will be eliminated.”

Blessings and much light your way.

Unify and purify the body, the mind and the speech to reach the One.

quote_shamanism_buddhism_spirituality_lotus

“Om mani padme hum” Through the practice and path of lotus, love and compassion, I cleanse my body, my mind and my words to reach the One ”
Quotes on shamanism and spirituality
A Buddhist mantra.

Hello everyone,

Today i intended to share with you my own understanding of this beautiful Buddhist mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum.”. I have put it together with a related design i finished yesterday and that i have called “about the lotus flower”

On the spiritual journey, differences or duality are to be overpassed in order to reach the deep roots of the spiritual practices and to look at them from the place where they talk about the same thing. In Buddhism and shamanism and having practiced both of them, the intention to purify the body, mind, and speech is the same in both practices.

In shamanism , “mantras” (these sentences or sacred sounds repeated several times to unify the body and mind) are not so commonly used though the voice and chants are in use in pretty much all the shamanic traditions to thank and express gratitude (to gods, ancestors, mother earth, etc ….) or to open the doors of the Spirit and get in tune with him.

About meditation, there are many ways to meditate for a shaman aside from some deep spectacular transes that are not happening in all shamanic traditions in such “spectacular” ways. Sometimes while watching a shaman from the outside, you wouldn’t even noticed he is meditating: he might do it sitting in front of a sacred fire, contemplating the nature, the clouds or the stars in the sky, or doing some housework such as cleaning the floor of his house, etc.. In Buddhism, the lotus position is the “privileged” position to reach enlightenment, but once practiced daily and once the path to the state of consciousness is being known, there are many opportunities for a buddhist to get into this meditative and contemplative state without having to sit in lotus: cooking, gardening, manual work or crafts (samu), cleaning, etc. So again here we talk about the same thing into both practices and path.

To conclude, i ll just say that there is no difference and no duality in the sacred place where stands the One, and there is no place where the One doesn’t stand. Many different forms, explanations or shades to finally learn to look at the same thing We have to go to the roots to understand the spiritual path and  as always the replies stand inside us.

May your day be full of joy and peace.
Namaste

Shamanism: a path with a heart and a journey into a world of perceptions and energy

shamanism_quotes_castaneda_heart_path

“For a rational man it’s unthinkable that there should be an invisible point where perception is assembled, and yet more unthinkable, that such a point is not in the brain, as he might vaguely expect if he were given to entertaining the thought of its existence.(…) He ignored, for instance, the fact that sorcery* was not incantations and hocus-pocus, but the freedom to perceive not only the world taken for granted, but every thing else that was humanly possible.”

Carlos Castaneda.
Don Juan’s teachings
Quotes on shamanism

* sorcery: read or translate shamanism or magic in the meaning of ancient Egypt or in the kabbal’s one.

Hello everyone,

Today I am posting a digital creation about both the “path with heart” and perception but also about relationships to the universe and to others while walking on this path.

It is sometimes easier to express things through graphic art or poetry than using “speech”, especially when it comes to perceptions that go beyond our usual senses. Art tends to fall less easily into the mind trap as when fed mind starts out to digest anything his way and reify it, invariably reducing the richness of perception and experience.

But please make no mistake, the things we are referring to are in essence very practical and do not lie into allegory nore on fantasy. We are talking about a concrete perception of energy and concrete experiences that come with the same strenght and reality than the ones we experience in the material world. We thank daily our human form, our dream body and our shamanic trance to allow us to experiment all this our embodied matter and sensations so we can try to translate and share these experiences into this good old material world.

Beyond the fact that Carlos Castaneda has been (and still is somehow) highly controversial, i often quote him because the beauty of Don juan Matus’ teachings remains, in my opinion, among the finest ever written about the spiritual journey in a middle of a universe full of power and mystery. Castaneda’s books never fully overlap the field of shamanism but much of his writing belongs to it and expresses in a lyric way and through simple words what is often pretty hard to describe or explain. Among other things that stands in the middle of shamanism, medicine is absent in his books. His warrior focuses and works on his energy and consciousness to strenght them and prepare himself to death: this moment where the Nagual will hope to pass beyond the emanations of the Eagle. In opposite, the shaman serves the Gods and through this, he puts himself at the service of men’s pains or suffering. Focusing on his objective, the Warrior of Castaneda crosses life and the world with a certain “ruthlessness” while one of the primary essence of the shaman’s mission is to keep devoted to healing. This is probably a little schematic and it would take time to put a little bit of shades into all this, but the truth remains in the background. One thing is sure the path of the Castaneda’s warrior is not overlapping the path of the medicine man.

To take back on our purpose and this Art, two things are of utmost importance in shamanism. The first is working on oneself and focusing on the development of energy, intuition, attention and perception. To get to this point mostly requires to open his mind and then to work on the inner silence and on the chakra of the Heart. Therefore, Shamanism is mostly about putting the heart at its proper and original place, this place he should always hold as a direct perceptual and decision-making center of our being.

The second things is about the relation to “others” while walking this path with heart. People’s fears (their own fears as well as the ones we may feel worry to suffer from their judgment), as well as the pressure of a society built up on such bad basis (profit, competition, consumerism, rationalism, materialism , ….) should never hamper our openness, our perceptions and our path. We have much to do ourselves on the path with our own mind and our own human form (ego) to take credits or to let go and empower projections, fears, pressures, from other. If they are not on the path, it is usually pretty difficult for them to understand what it’s all about anyway and they are rarely providing good advices when they lavish them through their critical sense and mind.

Of course, the point is not about blaming anyone and even wasting energy this way would be pointless. Everyone mostly acts with what he has being taught and the society in which we are living dedicates strong pressure and effort to print in each individual its own “worldview” and its own “programs”, starting during early childhood not to say right after birth. It happens this society pressure does not only spread through medias and TV, but priorily through education and people but for those who have chosen to open their mind to the real mystery of this world and to walk a path with heart, Freedom and release presume the strength to stand on the path without flinching under the onslaught of materialism or any social “morality” of action and perception tied to materialism. Shaman and warriors have never baught the totally made up “reality” of a materialistic world where individuals under tied control should be dedicated to consumerism and perceived what they are being told to perceived. That’s not matching with the path with a heart, nore with a real definition of freedom. Unfortunatly and very logically, people are often the best defendants and representatives of this made up reality through their own fears and sadly most of these programs to maintain, as any system aiming to control individuals, are fear based.

It looks we are living strange times which have not yet drawn any conclusions nore understood all the implications of quantum physics and new theories upon life and universe coming from certain branches of modern biology. Recent scientific discoveries start to measure concrete impact of Energy, as admitting our own energy power and its influence on the universe and others – the same old power used for ages and put into practice by the wisdom and ancient medicine – but society as always remains sort of late in taking conclusions on late discoveries, prefering to defend his own “truths”, knowing already they have turned into lies. (I’ll post more videos and articles about this soon). Anyway as a matter of fact, materialism is having a hard time to accept changings and of course as always corporatism comes to help pushing in the wrong direction. It starts in the universities where the rear guard put on the brakes to keep control over “their” territory of an illusory knowledge already out-of-date, it continues in laboratories promoting chemistry as the exclusive and unique ultimate solution to heal or feed the world, and so it stays in many other fields where consumerist and economic interests,as individual controls still rule.

Beyond all these brakes slowing down the spreading and acceptance of new ideas in people’s mind that would redefine the good old “reality” and that would probably help admitting that there’s something bigger out there, the more relevant in all this has been certainly for ages the limits of our five sense when it comes about perceptions that are not at their immediate scope without some work. These boundaries are strong to overpass and we have to deal with the fact that we are made of this matter so hard to transcend to perceive matter for what it really is: energy.

In the end, the challenge remains the same: the crossing to rise our perception beyond the matter’s thickness and to be able to access the world of energy and the path with a heart. The first step as always will remain to stay open-minded and to accept the great mystery of this wonderful universe, hidden partially beyond our five senses.

Thank you for reading.

Have a beautiful and joyfull day, evening or night with much light wherever you are on this beautiful planet.

Native wisdom and prayer for the Great spirit and mother earth

Native wisdom and prayer for Mother Earth & Great Spirit

Native wisdom and prayer for Mother Earth & Great Spirit

Great Spirit,
give us hearts to understand;
never to take from creation’s beauty more than we give;
never to destroy wantonly for the furtherance of greed;
never to deny to give our hands for the building of earth’s beauty;
never to take from her what we cannot use.

Give us hearts to understand that to destroy earth’s music is to create confusion;
that to wreck her appearance is to blind us to beauty;
that to callously pollute her fragrance is to make a house of stench;
that as we care for her she will care for us.

We have forgotten who we are.
We have sought only our own security.
We have exploited simply for our own ends.
We have distorted our knowledge.
We have abused our power.

Great Spirit, whose dry lands thirst,
help us to find the way to refresh your lands.

Great Spirit, whose waters are choked with debris and pollution,
help us to find the way to cleanse your waters.

Great Spirit, whose beautiful earth grows ugly with misuse,
help us to find the way to restore beauty to your handiwork.

Great Spirit, whose creatures are being destroyed,
help us to find a way to replenish them.

Great Spirit, whose gifts to us are being lost in selfishness and corruption,
help us to find the way to restore our humanity.

Native prayer and american native wisdom
Prayer for the Great Spirit and for mother earth

Hello everyone,

Today i have released a new digital art inspired by the profound wisdom of the Native Americans and a native prayer that I first read at a beautiful FB page called Mujer Chaman

I hope you enjoy it or eventually use it. In the world of intention and energy the energy we send to anything never gets lost, precised the correct and strong intention is being input. If we concentrate our consciousness and if our intention is pure, we influence the world of matter and energy. This is true for the negative or positive thingings so it’s always better to avoid giving much energy to fears, or thoughts that create bad situations. These energy laws, though most of the time remaining invisible, are real and modern science occasionally does some experiments that confirm it. You may like to check the video i am putting below about this.

Now how this prayer and native wisdom relates to this big field of beliefs and practices we call shamanism? Well in a very direct way as the ancient wisdom of Native Americans is totally part of the practices of shamanism, and expresses the essence of shamanism, though the word “shaman” is rarely used by native americans. They usually prefer to use the word medicine man.

So here is the video. I hope you enjoy it. It has portuguese subtitles but it’s in english. 🙂

Have a beautiful Sunday full of light and joy.

Summer solstice 21 june 2014, a beautiful message from a wise native chief about our power to change the world

Native american wisdom and call for mother earth healing

Native american wisdom and call for mother earth healing

“You must decide. You can’t avoid it. Each of us is put here in this time and this place to personally decide the future of humankind. Did you think the Creator would create unnecessary people in a time of such terrible danger? Know that you yourself are essential to this World. Believe that! Understand both the blessing and the burden of that. You yourself are desperately needed to save the soul of this World. Did you think you were put here for something less?”

Quotes on shamanism & spiritual quotes

Hello everyone,

As the june solstice is getting closer, I have decided today to post a great message from a great native chief and wise man, Arvol Looking Horse. It is a call for prayer and changing, a call to all the nations of the world and to any of us. It is from September 2001, but unfortunatly not much has changed yet or not enough and it’s still totally up to date. I hope you will take a little while to read it because despite what we are being told on regular basis each of us has the power to change things and the world.

How is this relating to shamanism? In many ways and among all, we always celebrate solstices as the most important time of the year, we pray daily for mother earth and we thanks daily for our food and for the great miracle of life. We will be here at the solstice, meditating and joining this event with our soul and calling for this change all together with Chief Arvol Looking Horse and all the people and shamans that will join from the whole world.

So thanks again to Chief Arvol Looking Horse for this message of  wisdom and thanks to remind us that although a number of blind or greed people are doing anything to our mother earth and his people to earn money, the power to stop them all  is still totally in our hands. Please also remember this quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry:

“Your task is not to foresee the future, but to enable it.”

A message to the world from Chief Arvol Looking Horse

“Mitakuye (my relatives, my parents),

I, Chief Arvol Looking Horse of the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota Nation, would like to ask for this time for you to understand an Indigenous perspective in reflection of what has happened in America, what we call “Turtle Island.”

For the past six years, my work has concentrated on an effort in uniting the Global community, through a message from our sacred ceremonies, in recognizing a day of World Peace and Prayer on June 21st as a time to unite spiritually, each in our own ways of beliefs in the Creator. We have been warned from the messages, passed down from Ancient Prophecies, of these times we live in today — but also a very important message of a solution to turn these terrible times around.

To assist you in understanding the depth of this message involves the recognition in the importance of Sacred Sites. It is important that you realize the whole interconnectedness of what is happening today, in reflection of the continued massacres that are occurring on other lands and our own Americas.

I have been learning about these important issues of Sacred Sites since the age of 12, upon receiving the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle and its teachings. Our people have strived to protect Sacred Sites from the beginning of time. There needs to be an understanding in the concern of the protection of Sacred Sites that goes deeper than just the issue of Shrines built by humans. Our people have built similar objects and Shrines to identify and to remind the significance in the power of the Sacred Site. We have also witnessed them being destroyed for many decades, but we also realize it is what is underneath them that is important. These places have been violated for centuries and have brought us to this predicament that we are in concerning the unstable Global Level thus far.

Look around you: Our Mother Earth is very ill from these violations, and we are at a brink of destroying a healthy and nurturing survival for generations to come, our children’s children. Our ancestors have been trying to protect our Sacred Site from the continued violations called the Sacred Black Hills in South Dakota, “Heart of Everything that Is.” Our ancestors never saw this site from a satellite view, but now that those pictures are available with modern technology, we see that it is in the shape of a heart — and when fast forwarded it looks like a heart pumping. The Dine have been protecting Big Mountain, calling it the liver, and now that the coal is depleting, we are suffering, and going to suffer more, from the extraction of the coal and poison processes used in doing so.

The Aborigines have warned of the contaminating effects on the Corral Reefs from Global Warming, which they see as Mother Earth’s blood purifier. Our sacred water is being polluted.

The Indigenous people of the Rain Forest relay that the Rain Forests are the lungs and need protection. And now we see the Brazilian Government approved the depletion of 50 percent of this Sacred Site.

The Gwich’in Nation has an issue of oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge coastal plain, also known to the Gwich’in as “Where the life begins!”

The coastal plain is also the birthplace of many other life forms of Animal Nations. The death of these Animal Nations will destroy Indigenous Nations in this territory.

As these destructive developments continue all over the world, we will witness many more extinct Animal, Plant, and Human Nations, because of the misuse of power that mankind has made and their lack of understanding the “balance of life.” The Indigenous People warn that these destructive developments will cause havoc globally. There are many, many more Indigenous awarenesses and knowledge of Mother Earth’s Sacred Sites, connections (Mother Earth’s Chakras) to our spirit that will surely affect our future generations. These people are still suffering from this contamination, and their livelihood is being destroyed as I write this to you.

There needs to be a fast move toward other forms of energy that are safe for all Nations upon Mother Earth. We need to understand the whole picture in the type of minds that are continuing to destroy the spirit of our whole Global Community. Unless we do this, the powers of destruction will overwhelm us.

Our Ancestors foretold that water would someday be for sale. Back then this was hard to believe, since the water was so plentiful, so pure, and so full of energy, nutrition, and spirit. Today we have to buy pure water, and even then the nutritional minerals have been taken out; it’s just empty liquid. Someday water will be like gold, too expensive to afford. Not everyone will have the right to drink safe water.

We fail to appreciate and honor our Sacred Sites, ripping out the minerals and gifts that lie underneath them, as if Mother Earth were simply a resource instead of the Source of Life itself.

Attacking Nations and having to utilize more resources to carry out the destruction in the name of Peace and elimination is not the answer! We need to understand how all these decisions affects the Global Nation. We will not be immune to it’s repercussions.

To allow continual contamination of our food and land is now affecting the way we think. A “disease of the mind” has set in World Leaders and many members of our Global Community, with their understanding that a solution of retaliation and destruction of peoples will bring Peace.

In our Prophecies it is told that we are now at the Crossroads: Either unite Spiritually as a Global Nation, or be faced with chaos, disasters, diseases, and tears from our relatives eyes.

In times of disasters it is sad to say that it is the only time that we unite spiritually. But we must not taint it with anger and retaliation. We are the only species that is destroying the Source of life, meaning Mother Earth, in the name of power, mineral resources, and ownership of land, using methods of chemicals and warfare that are becoming irreversible, as Mother Earth is becoming tired and can not sustain any more impacts of war.

I ask you to join me on this endeavor. Our vision is for the Peoples of all continents, regardless of their beliefs in the Creator, to come together as one at their Sacred Sites at that sacred moment of what is known as the Summer Solstice of June 21st, to pray and meditate and commune with one another, thus promoting an energy shift to heal our Mother Earth and achieve a universal consciousness toward attaining Peace.

As each day passes bringing us to this day of concentration together, I ask the Global Nations to begin a Global effort, in knowing that each and every one of us is making a daily effort in waking to a gratitude of another day that is gifted to us, and begin to remember to give thanks for the Sacred Food that has been also gifted to us by our Mother Earth, so the nutritional energy of medicine can be guided to heal our minds and spirits.

This new millennium will usher in an age of harmony — or it will bring the end of life as we know it. Starvation, war, and toxic waste have been the hallmark of the Great Myth of Progress and Development that ruled the last millennium. To us, as caretakers of the heart of Mother Earth, falls the responsibility of turning back the powers of destruction.

We have come to a time and place of great urgency. The fate of future generations rests in our hands. We must understand the two ways we are free to follow as we choose — the positive way, or the negative way; the spiritual way, or the material way.

It’s our own choice — each of ours and all of ours. You yourself are the one who must decide. You alone — and only you — can make this crucial choice. Whatever you decide is what you’ll be, to walk in honor or to dishonor your relatives. You can’t escape the consequences of your own decision. On your decision depends the fate of the entire World.

You must decide. Did you think you were put here for something less?

In a Sacred Hoop of Life, where there is no beginning and no ending!

Spiritual wonders and zen wisdom: Ryokan Taigu , beggar, poet and Zen monk

spriitual_quotes_shamanism

“Sequestered should he sit, Steadfastly meditating, solitary, His thoughts controlled, his passions laid away Quit of belongings. In a fair, still spot Having his fixed abode”.

Bhagavad Gita.
Spiritual quotes, Meditation and shamanism.

Hello everyone,

Once again the Art above is about meditation. I have designed it about two years ago after a long zen retreat. It talks about the nice quiet place that is at the center of any deep spriritual experience. This is the same place where stand mystics, saints , sages and shamans and from which they get in contact with something that is much bigger than them and that transcends them.

They are three key things, three pilars at the center of shamanic practices . “Prayer ” and “offering” is the first one. In shamanism, we never pray to ask or request favors for ourselfves we pray to express gratitude to every living beings ,to the elements, the death , the ancestors , our guides , mother earth, …, but as well to the universe, to God and to this gift of life we have received and that we vow to use to serve God(s) and manifest his light in this world. Healing is also a cornerstone of our practice because through it we practice our wish to put ourself at service to ease pain and suffering, to serve light and to repel the darkness. Meditation is the third pillar of our shamanic practice since it allows us to purify the ego , as well as to observe and let flow the mark of the Divine inside us and this place where it has not been stained: our heart and soul. In this quiet place of meditation, we also find an inexhaustible source of energy, of love and peace.

This said, today i wanted to share a few wonderful poems by Ryokan, a wise Zen monk , hermit, beggar and free soul from the 18 – 19th century. The depth of his poetry and his spiritual awareness are always like a breath of fresh air and his compassion for people as well as his love for his own path, far from any attachment to material goods and lust, appear in each of his verses . So here is a bit of his Art and zen poetry.

“Yes, I’m truly a dunce
Living among trees and plants.
Please don’t question me about illusion and enlightenment —
This old fellow just likes to smile to himself.
I wade across streams with bony legs,
And carry a bag about in fine spring weather.
That’s my life,
And the world owes me nothing.”
Ryokan – zen poetry and spirituality

“No luck today on my mendicant rounds;
From village to village I dragged myself.
At sunset I find myself with miles of mountains between me and my hut.
The wind tears at my frail body,
And my little bowl looks so forlorn —
Yes this is my chosen path that guides me
Through disappointment and pain, cold and hunger.”
Ryokan – zen poetry and spirituality

“I watch people in the world
Throw away their lives lusting after things,
Never able to satisfy their desires,
Falling into deeper despair
And torturing themselves.
Even if they get what they want
How long will they be able to enjoy it?
For one heavenly pleasure
They suffer ten torments of hell,
Binding themselves more firmly to the grindstone.
Such people are like monkeys
Frantically grasping for the moon in the water
And then falling into a whirlpool.
How endlessly those caught up in the floating world suffer.
Despite myself, I fret over them all night
And cannot staunch my flow of tears.”
Ryokan – zen poetry and spirituality

Have a great day anyone. Light!

The true nature of energy healing and the healing path in shamanism

Shaman_energy_medicine

” The men are part of Creation and shamanism is our way to reconnect with all this “

Will Adcock -Shamanism
Quotes on Shamanism.

We never know in advance how far we can go on a particular problem before starting concretely a shamanic and energy healing session. In many cases, we are able to solve heavy problems and nothing seems to limit this medicine, in others cases we cannot go beyond a certain point. In these last cases , the limitations we may face aren’t due to a health problem in particular, they are more like resistances that we feel concretely while doing the healing. In most of these cases, we feel that only the person has the power to achieve the healing process and to proceed, it appears something must be changed in his life (behaviour, habits or spiritual ” alignment “). This may also be ass well a work to be done on the “ego” and in such cases we deliver the message we receive and we do not move forward because it belongs to the patient to make this last move and not to us. We simply point out the changes to be done and the patient is free to engage them or not.

Such things can be of course be difficult to say as much as to hear, but on our end, we always have a responsibility to convey the messages we receive to give the person a real chance to walk a path of changing and to know the direction. Of course we do always hope sincerely that the importance of these messages will be understood and received as important keys of success in the healing process and on the middle run.

It is important to understand that during or after the shamanic care, the messages given by the shaman to the patients are not coming from his mind or his ego. These messages comes to him from a particular place and what he is being shown is never the result of a personal ” judgment.” or an assumption of what the patient should do. In reality, shamans have enough to deal with their own human shape to waste energy judging the one of the others and we are also very conscient that each human path is complex. As for shamans, the illness is a call from the universe or the gods to warn someone of a required changing, we always expect that this warning will be taken seriously. For the rest, as the sun gives its love and energy to all living beings on earth out of any distinction , the love and compassion that the shaman practice, embrace the whole and comes to him from the whole. He is a holly bone chanelling something beyond him, his ego and his mind, and hi personal judgment has no room into all this.

It may happen sometimes that patients are taking these things in a wrong way, especially when the required changes consists in a touchy thing concerning the “ego”. This is mainly due to of mirror effect as if what they hear would come from another ego judging them but really and once again , the ego of the shaman is not involved in the shamanic energy healing,, nore in the shamanic transe. We do nothing , the shaman does nothing. Something “uses” him. We call this something “God” , “the gods” , “the spirit” or “the intention” and all our daily spiritual work consist in purifying ourselves from our human shape and ego so that this “something” that transcends us can take part and act during the shamanic healing session. We are only a tool channeling this energy and “knowledge”. There’s no merit, no judgment and no ego but love for the patients in the need and the sincere wish that he will receive the messages that comes in as real instruments of changing.

For some patients, it can be quite difficult to understand all this, especially for those who are not engaged on a spiritual journey and it is often much easier to understand these things for native people or people coming from traditional societies since they understand the shaman position and work as a channel between the universe or the spirit and the patient.

In reality and for the records, even for us who are deeply involved on the spiritual path, working many hours a day to let go this illusion of Ego and the noise of our dualistic mind, we have felt sometimes into the same trap with our own guides, misinterpreting some of their messages because of this mirror effect and assuming their ego was involved. The lessons came later and we then realized our mystakes and the way all this process works .From the soul of the shaman to the soul of his guides, from the soul of the shaman to the soul of his patients, the Ego shall have no room and if it does, the heart needs to be opened to receive. Nevertheless and for all these reasons, we understand that it can be sometimes difficult for our patients to overcome such process.

In modern medicine , the doctor treats with his head and his science and deployed chemical weapons against localized problems to fix them. In Traditional and ancestral medicine , man is primarily considered as a spiritual being made of energy, spirit and matter.
For the shaman or the energy healer, Illness or health troubles are the result of an imbalance state and a gap has been left between the original and normal condition of health and a misalignment of the patient from his own life path. In this sense and to help picturing it more clearly, the shamanic healing or cleansing is closer to the idea of miraculous healing done by the Saints than from the ones done through modern medicine. As a matter of fact, many shamans consider Christ as a great shaman able to connect with the forces of the universe and its laws to channel them to the soul and body of the people receiving his miracles.

More than bringing up and back health and energy, the shaman gives the keys of a global changing required for the patient to step back on his true path. The health and great energy output coming from such healing process should always be considered as a pulse giving the required strenght to walk the changing path. Though the healing may look totally complete, this fresh energy the patient can feel often open the way for a longer path of healing. In many cases , if no changes are engaged , the disease or the problem may return.

The true dimension of shamanic care and the depth of its action at many levels (body, mind and spiritual) might be difficult to perceive because the only frame of reference we got in the medical field is a man behind an office sending us to pass some tests, then depending on the results, giving us a receipt and a bunch of chemicals to finally send us back home until the next round. The Western civilization has split the body from the mind , the sacred and the profane, the spiritual and the material, the energy and the matter, putting each thing in different boxes with an expert in front of each. On the other end, the spiritual responses our societies are able to provided having turned a bit weak , we are often scarving in this field and New Age practices and market that have came in the middle with the ambition to fullfill our expectations and our thirst of magic, often provide answers made a bit of everything to end up nowhere and with nothing.

Anyway, to sum up on the way we look at our own health. the result of a man sliced into pieces with a possible targetted chemical response in front of each of the life problems he may face have driven people to look for separated answers in a list of experts that gets bigger and bigger year after year. Sadly and as consequence on the concept of “health”, many people still believe in the existence of a miracle pill that will fix everything, without having anything to change in their way of living. Unfortunatly, this illusion exists only in the fantasies of modern medicine and the drug chemistry lobbying and if both have met some great successes and proven themselves efficient in some cases, we all know they have been failing totally in some other cases, showing themselves totally powerless to deal with some deep problem on the long run when it’s not on the middle run. I am not even mentioning here the terrible secondary effects of some chemicals. Anyway this whole situation explains that patients in front of shamanism and its holistic messages may feel puzzled especially when that may concerned their lifestyle or worth a deep work to be done on themsefves.

The phenomenon is even more pernicious that when a changing arises at the horizon and we already feel better, we start to fall back into our good old behaviours and to forget the most important is still ahead for this comfortable situation to last. In the hell of pain and suffering a moment before the glow of well-being leaves us optimistic about the healing process and since it looks way better, we tend to pospound the remaining things on the list of the demanding shaman. The problem is again that the energy released by the shamanic healing and so-called ” clansing ” is an energy that the universe releases through the shaman to allow the patient to heal and this gift is to be used by him as a vehicle of changing. Efforts need to be engaged should they be in a gentle way for the disease not to come back and for the patient to align physically, mentally, spiritually and energetically on the laws of the universe in relation to his own inner truth and deep self . Beyond physical health, all this is really about self-accomplishment, well being but also happiness and it really worthes it .

Unfortunatly in case changes are required and nothing is being done when the patient returns we do not always have the way to act effectively again because the solution was in the patient’ hands and still is. The path was clear and the shaman does not have the power to walk it for the patient. If no effort were engaged, there is a big chance that we meet again the limits that we have found the first time. in a few words, the shaman’s work really ends where the one of the patient begins.

It is also really important to understand that authentic shamanism is out of “clientelism”. For us, and in the tradition of our elders and guides, money and expensive pricing list for healing cannot be part of shamanism since it creates a double dependency. We are commited to hold our own economic survival out of any dependency to our healing sessions. If our health care are subject to sufficient donations to allow us to devote more time to them then we do it, else we don’t. As spending many hours on each case, we of course always hope that patients understand the importance of donation. The donation allows us to spend more time healing and in the end allows more people to benefit from our healing sessions. It is the center of an exchange process where everyone is involved and where the energy shall flow Anyway, back to the responsability we have and this idea of clientelism, we don’t wish to have recurring clients to make it a living, we can not just as a doctor, close your eyes , repeat the receipt, through out an invoice and let the patient take another round until the next time without giving him a real chance to escape the traps that causes his desease and that might cause him worth problems if no changes are done. Shamanism has his two feet into spirituality and into holistic healing else it cannot be called shamanism.

In conclusion, patient engagement is essential in the healing process and in shamanic healing, the medicine man , the energy healer, the shaman only transmits what he sees, alway hoping that the words he receives from this dimension that transcends him to be heard and understood. The Shaman is concerned that his healing effort and the energy he dedicates will be a long term healing and not simply a short help for the patient to repeat the same mystakes. The natural authority that the medicine man had in traditional societies coming from the understanding of its position at the crossroads of universal , spiritual and energy laws has been diluted somewhat in our modern societies and into this idea of a patient “customer” who picks up bits of health from various specialists and experts.

Therapeutic addiction or patients’ dependancy should be the worth enemy of the real shaman as his energy should stay available for the many patients that God or the universe puts on its way. In this sense he has no “customers” but moreover he is not willing to have recurring customers. He is totally happy when people are healed and have step forward to engage the required changes to maintain their own health and their own balance. When this happens, the Shaman his mission accomplished in the light and in the will of the Gods.

Have a joyful and beautiful day

The shaman, the death and the meaning of life

shamanism_death

“In a world where death is the hunter , my friend , there’s no time for regrets or doubts. There is only time for decisions “
Carlos Castaneda , Journey to Ixtlan
Shamanic and spiritual quotes

The Digital art that goes together with this article is a tribute at once to the Wolf Medicine and to the Jackal God Anubis, guardian of the gates of the underworld who carried the souls of the deaths to appear in front of the Gods.

In shamanism, death is only a doorway. It’s a change of state and place for consciousness and the moment between death and birth, the incarnation, should be an opportunity for a path of elevation and evolution. The duty of the shaman, as was the duty of the Egyptian magicians for thousands of years, is to raise his consciousness up to the divine to be able to enter death consciously. To reborn in shamanism also implies to ” die” during his life time on earth. As in many spiritualities , there is always something to kill in oneself to rise and elevate the consciousness to the divine and its laws. This “thing” that one has to “kill” or better said to let go, is the “human shape” or the Ego. This concept of dying to be able to reborn to the divine is also found in the New Testament and applies both for shamans and christians.

The incarnation, life , the entry of consciousness into the matter and the material state is always  for the spiritual being a unique opportunity that must be seized. The shaman never forgets incarnation is a privilege. To him each new breathing is a miracle and an opportunity to feel and experience gratitude for the beam of circumstances, the fate , his ancestors, the gods that made his incarnation possible and for everything that made possible for his eternal consciouscness to incarnate on a body and on this earth for a specific achievement.

Following this beliefs, for the mystic, the Saint, the shaman or for any being sincerely involved into a spiritual journey, death is an important milestone. We here alive to save others and to help the world, and death reminds us the urgency to make our path, a path of learning, gifting and  constant elevation. In this sense, Death is always an ally, a counselor who is guiding the spiritual being and enlighting his life at each moment. The sames goes in all highest spiritual and mystical practices across the board and we retrieve it in all shamanic practices but also in Zen Buddhism. Taisen Deshimaru (a japanese zen master famous in Europe) often told to his neophyte disciples, should he scare some of them doing so  “zazen ( sitting meditation ) is like sitting in his coffin.”

The result of this is that on the spiritual journey, death is not an abstract idea or a scary one, it is more a measure of time to help us evolve along the way and make us understand there is no time to lose. In this sense, it is a light on the road and i can’t resist to quote again here this wonderful sentence from Castaneda that says it all .

“For me the world is weird because it is stupendous, awesome, mysterious, unfathomable; my interest has been to convince you that you must assume responsibility for being here, in this marvelous world, in this marvelous desert, in this marvelous time. I want to convince you that you must learn to make every act count, since you are going to be here for only a short while, in fact, too short for witnessing all the marvels of it.”

A Quote on Shamanism and spirituality

Being on a spiritual path or not , there is no doubt that the constant and positive awareness about death is something we have to learn to live with without fear. It might help some of us at some point to project in the future at our last moment and to find out if we would be ready to die in the next incoming minutes. If we still have important things to solve and to fix before that, we will feel them in our heart and what pops can then be used as a call to figure out what we are missing in our current path and to start working on it. We all have somehow somewhere in our deep self, beyond the fake ambitions society is pretending us to fullfill for a really happy life, the feeling that we have came and incarnate on earth for a special reason. Death has indeed this capacity to teach us if we’re on the right path or if there are things that we have to change in our lives.

Panchito , the wonderful Spanish shaman was saying something like, ” We came here for a reason , all we need to do is to remind ourselves this reason and once we remember it , we should just stick to it . “

Man is a social being, born into this world in a middle of a community called humanity, and in a middle of an ocean we call “life”, one among billions of living beings. We are born into this world with a mission, with the responsibility to remember it and then once we know it, to carry it. This mission is always having to deal with this large community of living beings we are part of and carries a responsibility among them. Every moment counts. How are we going to make that each day makes sense for ourself as for others? This is the ultimate challenge that life, this moment between birth and death, has been placing in our hands .

Thanks for reading !

We wish you a day full of joy, love and meanings in accordance with your deepest truth .

Ostrov : a great story and movie about healing and spirituality

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a beautiful day.

Look, if you have a while, please take it to watch this movie.

This movie named “ostrov” in Russian (the island) made by Pavel Lounguine in 2006. It tells the story of a monk that happens to be an healer as well. It’s done in such deep and profund way that it’s to me and by far one of the purest spiritual diamond i have got to watch over these last years. It’s full of teachings and it sticks really to what healing and faith is. You will find no special effects, no bs, just what it is in essence and in deep. I hope you will enjoy it.

For me, and again, there is no dualism, nore difference between spiritual practice at a high level of such practice, and the miraculous energy healings happening in shamanism aren’t different in essence than the wonderful healings of this wise old monk and saint.

Such things happens when one soul is connected to god’s or universe’s laws and works his way to purify.

This said my quotes of the day is about deep faith and miracles and it’s coming from the most brilliant scientist of our times.

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

Albert Einstein
